How to Apply
Thank you for your interest in the Training to Competence externship program! To help you get started we’ve outlined the application process below.
Step 1: Initiate the process with MSFC Headquarters by contacting us at [email protected] or calling 215-625-0800. Staff can help you select a host facility and/or will provide you with the contact information for potential host sites. Our Host Facility Map is also a great tool for identifying a site committed to hosting MSFC externs. You may partner with any clinic that can guarantee exposure to at least 50 abortion procedures during your experience.
Step 2: Contact the desired host facility to inform them of your intent to set up an externship. You will work directly with the facility to finalize the dates of your externship
Step 3: Submit a completed Abortion Training Program Application (including all supporting documents) to MSFC Headquarters at least one month prior to the start date of the externship.
Application Materials for Residents:
- Resident Funding Appliction
- Host Facility Confirmation Form
- Resident RHE Budget Form
- Letter of standing from your residency program
- Personal Statement
Step 4: If accepted, you will receive an official acceptance letter, a link to our Pre-Abortion Training Survey, and any follow-up materials. You must complete the survey and return the financial documents before the start of your externship.
Upon acceptance into the program, your stipend will be disbursed as follows:
- 50% at the mid-point of your externship.
- 50% after completion of your externship, following your completion of the Post-Abortion Training Survey and submission of all relevant receipts to MSFC Headquarters.
