Meet Our New Executive Director: Pamela Merritt!
The Medical Students for Choice Board of Directors is pleased to announce our new Executive Director, Pamela J. Merritt! Pamela will assume her role leading the organization on January 1, 2021.
A search committee comprising MSFC Board members, staff, and alumni worked with Koya Consulting to recruit and interview a pool of incredible applicants to bring a slate of final candidates to the full Board of Directors in late October. As a Board, we unanimously voted to hire Pamela to bring her seasoned leadership, vision, collaboration, and creativity to the organization’s ongoing growth and sustainability.
Pamela’s career reflects her dedication to expanding access to reproductive healthcare, including abortion. With more than 12 years of leadership in the reproductive justice space, Pamela worked tirelessly to advance progressive policy through advocacy and outreach at Planned Parenthood Advocates in Missouri and Progress Missouri. Most recently, she co-founded and served as the co-director of Reproaction, a national organization that leads bold action to increase access to abortion and advance reproductive justice. As a proud Midwesterner, Pamela knows all too well the impact a lack of trained abortion providers has on abortion access. Pamela will bring her organizing and communications expertise and her commitment to dismantling reproductive oppression to MSFC as we continue our work to create tomorrow’s abortion providers and pro-choice physicians.
I look forward to working with Pamela in the new year and I’m excited for you all to get to know her.
In solidarity,
Mugdha Mokashi
President, Board of Directors Medical Students for Choice
