Abortion is one of the most common surgical procedures in gynecology. Yet it rarely appears on the medical school curriculum. The organization Medical Students for Choice, which was founded in the US in 1993, and is now active worldwide, wants to change that.

At conferences or at informational events on the subject of abortion, students are informed about the procedure and can also practice it during workshops. For example, with papayas. The fruit is suitable for learning the so-called suction method. Kreatur spoke to Pamela Merritt, the director of Medical Students for Choice, about the goals and challenges of the organization.
